French firm takes over half of former Evergreen plant

French-based manufacturer Saint-Gobain has leased about half of the former Evergreen Solar plant on Barnum Road in Devens. The company plans to invest $31 million in the facility, hire 90 new employees, and start production next year at the location, according to a press release issued in June by the building’s owners, Calare Properties and Hackman Capital.
