Devens will continue to participate in the Central Massachusetts Mosquito Control Project (CMMCP) for 2013.
Spray operations are conducted in residential areas by request only, and only after an investigation has confirmed the existence of mosquitoes has exceeded a pre-determined threshold. The spraying is done after sunset utilizing handheld or truck mounted sprayers.
Devens residents wishing to have their properties excluded from pesticide applications for 2013 should notify the Devens Enterprise Commission in writing before March 1, 2013.
Residents should also contact the CMMCP office directly at (508) 393-3055 or email@example.com.
CMMCP is continuing with their goal to reduce the need for adult mosquito spraying and has placed an increased emphasis on larviciding, water management, source reduction and public education. Additional program information and updates will continue to be posted on the Devens Enterprise Commission website at http://www.devensec.com/news.html.
Full details on the CMMCP program are available at http://www.cmmcp.org/pesticide.htm.
