DEVENS — MassDevelopment is expected to hire a developer to build 120 new housing units in Devens sometime in August after six firms expressed their interest in taking on the project.
The quasi-public economic development agency said Monday that it has received responses to its request for qualification for the Grand Road neighborhood project by the May 24 deadline. The project encompasses 70 acres in the northwestern section of Devens, which is the last remaining piece of residentially zoned land in the former Army fort community. The project calls for 20 percent to 25 percent of the proposed units to be “affordable.”
