Devens Earth Day 2013 – A Great Success!


An impressive 70 volunteers came out to celebrate Earth Day and help with community betterment projects.  Activities included picking up 18 bags of trash, planting four gardens, clearing three hiking trails, removing several bags of invasive plants, and painting 10 turtle crossing signs!

Participants came from BMS, Devens Enterprise Commission, Johnson Matthey Pharma Services, MassDevelopment, Parker Charter School, Saint-Gobain and Xionetics.  Thank you to all who participated!

  • Saint Gobain employees picked up trash along Barnum & painted turtle crossing road signs!
  • Xionetics Employees picked up several huge bags of trash from Devens trails.
  • Bristol-Myers Squibb Employees Planting flowers at the Sweetheart Memorial – Jackson Rd.
  • Johnson Matthey Employees cleaning up the stonedust trail off of Jackson and Patton Road.
