Peter C. Lowitt will discuss “The Redevelopment of Fort Devens into a Model Eco-Industrial Park” Sunday, May 4, from 10:30 a.m. to noon at First Parish in Concord, 20 Lexington Road.
The former Fort Devens covers an area about the size of Watertown and has has become an international model for sustainable development. This ranges from the use of renewable energy to programs provided by the Devens Eco-Efficiency Center to assist companies locating at Devens in “greening” their operations.
Lowitt serves as director and land use administrator for the Devens Enterprise Commission, the agency charged with permitting the re-development of the former Fort Devens army base in Massachusetts.
