Security Construction Services Inc. (SCS), a Hudson-based general contractor, recently celebrated the completion of its latest range construction project at Fort Devens.
Congresswoman Niki Tsongas, Fort Devens leaders and an SCS official attended the event.
The range is designed for target training and qualification evaluation for combat pistol users and military police. The range includes 96 stationary infantry targets, 12 firing lanes and 12 barricades. All targets are fully automated and allow for computer-driven, event-specific target scenarios with scoring and immediate feedback for participants at the operations tower on site. The build-out also included the construction of six facilities.
This upgraded range replaces a smaller 8-lane target range with pneumatic pop-up targets – outdated and highly susceptible to adverse weather conditions, according to SCS.
