SHIRLEY — The Joint Boards of Selectmen decided Dec. 18 to have MassDevelopment hold more public hearings before formally coming to a vote on the proposed zoning amendments to Chapter 498, the governing statute of Devens.

The amendments would do the following:

* Allow for senior residential uses in the Shirley Village Growth District.

* Allow health-care uses like medical offices in Devens zones at which they are currently not allowed.
