Former U.S. Special Forces officer Duane Barber will discuss the importance of large-scale military maneuvers for national defense Saturday, March 21, at 1 p.m. at Fort Devens Museum.

A 30-year veteran of the U.S. Special Forces who later spent a decade directing a Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps, he will explain how training exercises are organized and give a brief history of U.S. Army large-scale training maneuvers.

While the program begins at 1 p.m., Fort Devens Museum is open to the public every third Saturday of the month from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and every Tuesday and Friday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The program is free and open to the public but donations are greatly appreciated.
