DEVENS — The Francis W. Parker Charter Essential School, now in its 20th year, held its 16th commencement outside the school Wednesday afternoon.
As in previous years, each of the smiling young men and women in green caps and gowns carried a single, long-stemmed red flower as they proceeded across the lawn and took their places on stage to the strains of “Pomp and Circumstance.”
This year, the ceremony took place under the shelter of a huge white tent that accommodated the 48-member graduating class, students, faculty and guests.
