Ernest Hemingway’s “Farewell to Arms” is the focus of a proposed trip to northern Italy and Slovenia from May 11 to 25 being organized by Fort Devens Museum. The itinerary includes scenic sites and those related to World War I, including Venice, Cortina, Asolo, Caporetto Slovenia. The cuisines and wines of the Friuli and Veneto areas will be explored.
Tour Director Ellie Buford, a former Harvard resident now living in the area to be visited, is an experienced traveler. Viaggi Unlimited Travel in Aviano, Italy, will handle travel arrangements. Local guides will accompany 22 travelers to sites, museums, and monuments.
