Baker’s bid to limit credits has film advocates nervous

DEVENS — Two years ago, the usually quiet communities of Nashoba Valley were buzzing with the excitement of Hollywood.
That’s because the first film for New England Studios had come to town.
Locals watched as celebrities Jason Sudeikis and Rebecca Hall graced a small Shirley diner on a shoot for “Tumbledown.”
But with Gov. Charlie Baker’s plan to limit film tax credits, industry leaders argue, the state may lose such star-studded events as studios take their productions elsewhere.
