Loyalty Day Event – The Department of Massachusetts Veterans of Foreign Wars will hold a Loyalty Day Ceremony on April 24, 2016

Ft. Devens Massachusetts– The Department of Massachusetts Veterans of Foreign Wars will hold a Loyalty Day Ceremony on April 24, 2016. Loyalty Day, originally known as “Americanization Day” enacted into public law by Congress in 1958.  Loyalty Day is a day established to counteract the May 1 celebrations of the Communist party in the United States and honor all merit that encompasses this free Nation.  Loyalty day has continued to be a day worth recognizing despite the fact that the Communist threat has greatly subsided over the years.  Today the holiday continues to reaffirm the American principles of freedom and democracy. In addition to Loyalty Day the ceremony will also honor our Vietnam Veterans and the 50th anniversary of the Vietnam War. The event will be held on Fort Devens, Building 623 on April 24, 2016 at 10:30 am.  This event is open to the public.

The Veterans of Foreign Wars of the U.S. is a nonprofit veterans service organization comprised of eligible veterans and military service members from the active, Guard and Reserve forces.
